College Sailing (NWICSA)

College sailing follows a very similar format to high school sailing. The Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association or ICSA for short governs collegiate sailing- not the NCAA. The nation is broken up into seven districts. Schools in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia belong to Northwest Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association. Regattas take place during fall and spring all across the country, including about a dozen regattas here in the Northwest. Some schools are fully funded varsity teams, but most are student run "club teams," including all NWICSA programs. Regardless of size or status all teams compete against each other for the same national championships.
